What is HMPE?
High Modulus Polyethylene (HMPE) is a high-strength synthetic fibre used when abrasion resistance, light weight and low friction are priorities. It is also known as Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), which is an absolute mouthful. Some branded performance fibres, such as Dyneema, are proprietary forms of HMPE. With a strength-to-weight ratio up to 15 times that of steel, it is both strong and incredibly lightweight.
Why do you use HMPE for your Rope Pros?
HMPE based fabrics are some of the most cut and abrasion resistant fabrics available on the market.
Compared to canvas, PVC, ballistic nylon and even aramid fibres such as Kevlar, HMPE has superior abrasion and cut resistance and lower friction, meaning our Rope Pro will outlast alternative protectors in equivalent conditions. There's a reason fabrics and composites made from these fibres exist in motorcycle and ballistics protection. While cords, ropes and slings made from the same fibres are used in high performance maritime applications, 4wd recovery gear and incredibly lightweight but durable climbing slings.
Why are your Rope Pros more expensive than some other rope protectors?
Using high-performance fibres such as HMPE and having the sewing and construction completed in Australia means our Rope Pro products aren't cheap to produce. At the risk of sounding like our dad, we do think you get what you pay for.
Where are your products made?
Both Heavy Duty and Ultra Heavy Duty Rope Pro products are manufactured in Australia. As there is almost no Australian-manufactured HMPE available to us, we source this material from our overseas partner.
We strive to manufacture locally to help ensure people are paid fairly and will mark products that are made here, but not everything can be for the time being. As we grow we aim to have as much of our production line based locally as possible.

What is your warranty and returns policy?
We stand by our products and want to make sure they deliver on our promise of reliability and longevity. We will replace any product that fails due to workmanship within 12 months of purchase. If you're not satisfied with one of our products in any way, please send us a message via our contact page and we'll do our best to make it right. While we aim for durability, all work environments vary and we need to judge damage outside of manufacture on a case by case basis.
